AFH Network is a complete operations platform for Adult Family Homes in Washington State. It combines two things on one login: (1) a training marketplace with self-paced, slide-based courses, quizzes, and downloadable certificates, and (2) a subscription operations suite for owners — an electronic Medication Administration Record (MAR), an AI Negotiated Care Plan (NCP) Generator, a WAC 388-76 Compliance Assistant, and a Task Tracker for HR and compliance deadlines — plus seat-based employee management. Train your team and run your home from the same place.
AFH Network is built for four groups: (1) AFH Owners who subscribe to unlock the operational tools (MAR, NCP Generator, Compliance Assistant, Task Tracker) and manage their staff through seats; (2) Caregivers and HCA staff added by an owner, who take the courses assigned to them; (3) Independent learners who browse the public catalog, create a free account, and buy courses individually; and (4) Administrators who build courses and manage the platform. You only need a subscription if you are an owner who wants the operational tools — anyone can buy and take courses without one.
No. AFH Network runs entirely in your web browser. It works on computers, tablets, and smartphones. No app download required.
AFH Network is a private company. Our courses and tools are designed to align with Washington State DSHS standards and WAC 388-76 for Adult Family Homes, but we are not a government entity and are not officially certified or licensed by DSHS. Our tools are administrative and decision-support aids — they do not replace professional, legal, or medical judgment. Always verify current state requirements directly at dshs.wa.gov.
Courses & Learning
Each course is divided into chapters. Each chapter contains lessons made up of slides — short, focused screens with text, visuals, and audio narration. At the end of each chapter is a quiz. You must pass the quiz before moving on to the next chapter. Progress is saved automatically, so you can pause and resume at any time.
Yes. The course player is fully responsive and works on smartphones and tablets. You can start a course on your desktop at home and continue on your phone during a break.
No. Your progress is saved automatically. You can stop at any point and resume exactly where you left off.
You can retake a chapter quiz as many times as needed. There is no penalty for failed attempts.
Yes. When you finish all lessons and pass the final exam, AFH Network issues a uniquely numbered Certificate of Completion (for example, CERT-A1B2C3) that you can download as a PDF from the Certificates page in your account. Earning a certificate also grants you permanent access to that course, so you can revisit the material any time. If you are an assigned employee, your completion is also visible to your employer.
Business Accounts & Owners
There are two ways to become an owner. You can self-subscribe at any time by choosing a plan on our pricing page and completing checkout — this immediately unlocks the operational tools included in your plan. You can also be set up by an administrator invitation: an admin invites you, you register from the invite link, and your account is configured for you. Either way, your owner account comes with a set number of employee seats. You invite your caregiving staff by email, they register and are linked to your account, and you can see all of your employees' course progress from your dashboard.
Your account starts with a default number of employee seats. If you need more, you can request additional seats directly from your dashboard. An administrator reviews and approves the request, and your seat count updates once it is approved.
Your employees can access the courses that flow to your business account — that is, courses assigned to your account by an administrator (and courses included with your subscription). They do not get access to courses you buy as a personal one-time purchase: those are tied to your individual account only and are never shared with employees. If your team needs a course that is not in your assigned list, contact us to request it.
If an employee leaves, you can remove them from your account from the owner dashboard.
Owner Tools
The owner tools are four operational features for running an Adult Family Home: the MAR, the NCP Generator, the Compliance Assistant, and the Task Tracker. They are paid features unlocked by an owner subscription — each plan includes a specific set of tools. Employees do not get the owner tools (they only get assigned courses), and administrators have full access without a subscription. See plans on our pricing page.
The MAR is an electronic Medication Administration Record. You add residents and their medications (with drug-name autocomplete from NLM RxNorm and the FDA NDC directory), schedule regular and as-needed (PRN) doses, and mark each dose on a tap-to-update Daily Log (Given, Refused, Missed, Held, or N/A — with a reason and the staff member's initials). It auto-archives every month, keeps a 7-year tamper-evident audit log, and produces a print-ready, DSHS-style MAR Word document. It is a paid feature unlocked by your subscription.
The NCP Generator turns a resident's Long-Term Care Assessment into a Washington Negotiated Care Plan. You upload the assessment (.doc, .docx, or .pdf), our Azure AI reads it and auto-fills a draft care plan, you review and edit it, then download the finished .docx. Uploaded files go directly from your browser to private, encrypted Azure storage and are deleted after processing — resident health information never touches our main database. It is a paid feature unlocked by your subscription.
The Compliance Assistant is a chat assistant for Adult Family Home rules, grounded in WAC 388-76 (Washington's AFH minimum licensing requirements). It answers your questions in real time, shows verified regulation citations as clickable gold pills, warns you when a citation cannot be verified, supports voice input, saves your conversation history, and alerts you when the regulations change. It is informational decision-support, not legal advice. It is a paid feature unlocked by your subscription.
The Task Tracker keeps your home's recurring compliance work on schedule: yearly provider and facility tasks, staff training and assessments, non-licensed and former-employee records, and evacuation drills (with full and partial drill windows). It includes six editable, printable HR forms, sends automatic due-soon and overdue email reminders, and handles staff lifecycle changes automatically. It is a paid feature unlocked by your subscription.
The MAR and NCP Generator handle Protected Health Information (PHI) — resident details and care data. That information is processed under a Microsoft Azure Business Associate Agreement (BAA) on Azure infrastructure. PHI is locked to the owner account it belongs to: every tool route is access-gated, and any attempt to reach another account's data is blocked. NCP uploads go straight from your browser to private, encrypted Azure storage and are deleted after processing, so care-plan documents never sit in our main database. As the owner, you remain responsible for the accuracy and lawful use of resident data.
Billing & Payments
AFH Network has three pricing paths. (1) One-time course purchases — buy any individual course from the catalog at a fixed price; it is yours permanently, no subscription required. (2) Owner subscriptions — a recurring monthly or annual plan that unlocks the operational tools (MAR, NCP Generator, Compliance Assistant, Task Tracker); each plan includes a specific set of tools. (3) Employee seats — your subscription includes a number of seats for staff, and you can request more from your dashboard. See current plans on our pricing page, or contact us with questions.
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) through our secure Stripe payment processing.
No. All payment information is handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor. AFH Network never stores your credit card details.
Yes — within 14 days of purchase, provided you have not started the course (no lessons completed). Refunds are self-service: go to Purchases in your account menu and request the refund there. Note that requesting a refund removes your access to that course and clears any saved progress. See our Refund Policy for full details.
Subscriptions renew automatically, and we do not auto-refund unused time. You can cancel any time from Dashboard → Subscription: your plan is set to cancel at the end of the current billing period, so you keep access until then. If you upgrade mid-cycle the change is prorated and billed right away; if you downgrade, the new (lower) plan takes effect at the start of your next period. Refunds on subscriptions are not automatic but are reviewed on request — contact us and an administrator can process an approved refund through Stripe. Cancelling never deletes your data. See our Refund Policy for full details.
Yes — use our contact form to discuss bulk pricing or non-profit discounts and we'll get back to you.
Subscriptions & Plans
Owner subscriptions are recurring plans (monthly or annual) that unlock the operational tools. Each plan includes a specific set of tools — identified internally by feature keys such as courses, mar, ncp, compliance, and task-tracker — so a given plan turns on the MAR, NCP Generator, Compliance Assistant, and/or Task Tracker accordingly. Compare what each plan unlocks on our pricing page.
Yes — eligible plans start with a free trial, so you can try the tools before you are billed. You have full access during the trial, and we email you before it ends. Start a plan from the pricing page.
Yes, from Dashboard → Subscription. When you upgrade, the change takes effect immediately and the cost is prorated and billed right away — you only pay the difference for the rest of the cycle. When you downgrade, you keep your current plan until the end of the billing period, and the lower plan starts at your next renewal.
If a renewal payment fails, your account enters a past-due grace period and we automatically retry the card for about three weeks — and you keep full access to your tools the whole time. If it still cannot be collected, the subscription moves to unpaid and tool access is paused, but your data is preserved. To restore access, just update your card and pay the outstanding balance from Dashboard → Subscription, and everything switches back on.
Account & Technical
Click "Forgot Password" on the login page and enter your email address. You'll receive a password reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.
Yes. Go to Settings → Security in your account. Enter your new email address and confirm — we'll send a verification link to the new address to confirm the change.
Yes. Click "Continue with Google" on the login or sign-up page to use your Google account.
AFH Network gives you several layers of account security, all managed from Settings → Security. Two-factor authentication (2FA) sends a 6-digit code to your email after you enter your password (with backup codes in case you lose access). You can also add a passkey (WebAuthn / FIDO2) to sign in with your device's fingerprint, face, or PIN instead of a password. And you can mark a device as trusted for 30 days, so you are not asked for a second factor every single time on a device you use regularly.
Use our contact form and describe the issue, including your account email so we can help you faster.
